Longshore Drift

Description

Thar she blows! She's a big-un', cap'n! And so on... This is sixteen drawings in one, arranged roughly into a grid with bits trailing out into the neighbouring frames for the sake of floaty-ness.

It's all part of something called 'The Longshore Drift' and it's for the interactive learning resource for schools and colleges that's part of the project. This is what The Kids are going to be pinging around on and zooming in and out of on their computer screens, thanks to the technical talents of Tim Dollimore at The Media Workshop. All the material is drawn from a play - written by Jon Croose of Means of Production and performed by the Common Players troupe - that aims to inform on the history and science behind Dorset and East Devon's Jurassic Coast (which is a World Heritage Site, ner).

Apparently all of this is building towards a performance on a series of floating barges on the sea in front of the cliffs themselves in 2012 as part of some kind of huge cross-media event(!)

This was pencilled, inked and watercolour'd out on two big bits of A2 paper. Each bit was then scanned twice on my A3 scanner, and all four bits were then stitched together in Photoshop. (Oy!)

I'll lob up a link to the interactive presentation thingamy once it's done...
